Thwaites to Unveil Three New Dumpers at Bauma 2025

Thwaites to Unveil Three New Dumpers at Bauma 2025

Thwaites are set to introduce three innovative dumpers at Bauma next week, (April 7th-13th 2025), showcasing the company’s commitment to innovation, safety and sustainability in construction equipment.

These latest additions to the Thwaites line up are more than just machines, they represent a forward-thinking approach to operator safety, machine efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Whether it’s through next-generation safety systems, enhanced all-round visibility, or the move towards zero-emissions equipment, Thwaites is leading the charge into a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future.

As proud distributors of Thwaites dumpers at BTE Plant Sales, we're excited to see these innovations revealed on a global stage. If you're planning to attend Bauma 2025 or simply want to stay ahead of the curve, here's what to expect from Thwaites’ impressive new line-up...

  1. The ROTATOR Dumper

The ROTATOR is a 9-tonne dumper featuring a rotating operator position, giving 360-degree visibility. This design enhances safety and operational efficiency by enabling the machine to function identically in both forward and reverse directions. The spacious cab includes integrated cameras, adjustable mirrors, air conditioning, and intuitive hydrostatic controls and can be accessed through left and right-sided doors. Thwaites have put a lot of thought towards operator comfort and continues to ensure a full working day can be done comfortably and with ease.

Safety features include seat presence switch logic, limit switches to ensure the seat is secure, and tilt sensors that provide audible and visual alerts based on gradient conditions. With a straightforward tipping skip, the ROTATOR is easily and safely unloaded exactly where you want it to. There is full oscillation and articulation which allows you to have ultimate control.

The ROTATOR is an excellent addition to the Thwaites portfolio and we are very excited to see it on the stand an bauma. Any machine that helps reduce risks on site and improve productivity is a big yes from us.

  1. The Electric 2 Tonne Hi-Swivel

Emphasising sustainability, Thwaites have developed an all-electric 2 tonne dumper to accompany their existing 3-tonne swivel electric machine. Powered by maintenance-free, lithium-ion batteries operating at 48V, the dumper utilises two electric motors for traction and hydraulic services.

It is designed to complete a full 8-hour shift on a single charge, with various charging options available to suit different operational needs. This includes an optional fast charger which will charge the dumper from 20% to 80% in less than 50 minutes. This model offers a cleaner, quieter alternative for urban construction environments.

  1. The 6 Tonne ROPS+ Dumper

After updated health and safety guidelines came into effect in February this year, Thwaites released the ROPS+ Dumper. This new ROPS+ (Roll Over Protective Structure Plus) design marks a significant step forward in site safety, ensuring that the operator is fully protected before the machine can even be put into motion. The system incorporates what Thwaites refers to as a ‘Triple Lock’ logic, which requires three key conditions to be met before the engine will start:

  1. The operator must be seated.
  2. The seatbelt must be fastened.
  3. A secure safety latch bar must be fully engaged.

Only when all three safety mechanisms are activated can the machine be operated, helping to eliminate the risks associated with poor site habits or operator error. This triple-check system encourages best practice and reinforces site safety protocols in a practical, user-friendly way.

To further enhance protection, the dumper is also equipped with padded side panels and a rear safety box, forming a physical enclosure around the operator and offering what Thwaites calls a ‘Halo’ of safety. These additions not only protect the operator in the event of a rollover but also increase visibility on-site.

This new ROPS+ model is a perfect example of how Thwaites is meeting new regulatory standards head-on—while going a step further to ensure peace of mind for operators, site managers, and fleet owners alike.

As a leading name in dumper manufacturing, Thwaites is once again setting the standard for the industry and ensuring they offer a full range of site dumpers. These innovations demonstrate Thwaites' dedication to evolving construction equipment through enhanced safety features and eco-friendly solutions.

Attendees at Bauma 2025 will have the opportunity to experience these models firsthand and we cannot wait to hear what you think. Also on the stand will be staples of the Thwaites range – the T450 power swivel (popular in the EU), 1.5 tonne power swivel and 1 tonne hi-tip dumpers.

If you are attending Bauma, let us know; we would love to hear your feedback on the new machines!
